Vineyards grown without artificial irrigation, on sandy or calcareous soils that produce vibrant wines. The humidity of the night and the breezes of the day protect their balanced vines. Organic viticulture surrounded by almond and olive trees, a living ecosystem.
Imagine walking down a path flanked by vines swaying between almond and olive trees. The Montgó rises in the background, the wind carries a hint of the sea, and you are greeted by the scent of a wine that tastes of time and the entire Mediterranean.
Welcome to Les Freses, where Mara has transformed the memory of a strawberry farm into a project of organic viticulture and poetic sensibility.
Their dry white wines, record-breaking in greenish straw hues, are made from 100% Muscat of Alexandria, grown without chemicals, respecting the microclimate and tradition. Fresh flowers (jasmine, orange blossom, rose) on the nose, followed by a dry, saline finish with hints of fennel, ginger, and grapefruit.
There, the dominant grape variety is Muscat of Alexandria, vibrant, dry, and floral, reflecting the saline climate and the sandy, calcareous terroir. Wines such as Les Freses Blanco Seco, Àmfora, or Dolç are made with their own yeasts and, depending on the winery, in antique amphorae or stainless steel tanks. The result: a pure expression of the Alicante landscape, with a clean soul and a long finish (tiendalesfreses.com, lesfreses.com).
Les Freses ferments with its own yeasts, using clay amphorae and demijohns depending on the wine. It respects artisanal timing, without rushing. This old-new philosophy connects with the first winery in Europe found on that same property.
The experience of the visit transcends a simple tasting. You walk with a guide between the vineyard and the old Riu Rau, tasting one wine after another, paired with local tapas or a traditional sweet breakfast, all accompanied by ancestral history. A cultural, sensorial, and gastronomic morning that will leave a mark on any wine or Mediterranean landscape lover.

There is a very specific moment in every trip that, in reality, happens long before you pack your suitcase. That instant when you begin to imagine the summer, who you will share it with, how you want to feel, or what kind of place you want to remember months later.
Some projects are born out of necessity, while others, over time, become part of a place's identity. Twenty-five years ago, Abahana Villas began its journey on the northern Costa Blanca with a clear idea: to offer a different way of experiencing the Mediterranean. More human, more thoughtful, more authentic. What started as a vision linked to vacation rentals has now become a brand deeply connected to the region, its villas, its owners, and the thousands of guests who have discovered this coast through it, in a much more personal way, almost by word of mouth.
