Restaurant El Bodegón

La Mancha and Don Quijote are the first images that spring to mind when setting foot inside this distinctive restaurant. The impression is confirmed by the decor of white walls with rustic rendering, delightful hams hanging from the ceiling all around, and wine casks.

A restaurant impeccably run by the Díaz family for 30 years now, and seen as an essential fixture with a particularly special place in Calpe's affections thanks to its loyal clientele. A sure winner given the various accolades it has claimed, including the "9 d'Octubre" Award for its record in tourism.

This wonderful restaurant has, since 1976, been one of the most traditional eateries in Calpe. Delicious vegetables and outstanding fish with the guaranteed quality of Calpe Fish Market, zarzuela stews and "Llauna de Calp" (baked fish) are just some of the maritime specialities, along with excellent meat dishes including Chateaubriand and roast shoulder of lamb. The stars of the delicious dessert menu are crêpe suzette and the home-made cakes.

The restaurant also has an outstanding wine list featuring the very best of Valencia and Spain. All amid distinctive rustic decor, full of wine casks and acorn-fed Iberian cured hams, which together with the wooden flagons hanging from the wall all evoke the feeling of a "hearty repast".
