This is an ecological agricultural venture in which local producers from the valley display their best produce, allowing visitors and neighbours to delight in essentially Mediterranean products all of which are cultivated in a way that is ecological and environmentally sustainable.

The initiative promotes an alternative way of consuming, one that is sustainable and responsible and that also makes it possible for visitors to enjoy the valley's tourist attractions, while they taste and purchase top-quality local produce. Agriculture, bee-keeping, farming, sensations, proximity, natural products, social encounters, countryside and entertainment are the values behind this ecological initiative that takes place on the first Saturday of every month, from 9 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon.

Special mention should be made of the local wines, an authentic and traditional flavour which can also be tasted in the market. It is worth remembering that throughout the Valley, visitors can enjoy what is an important ethnological heritage that derives from agricultural and rural architecture, most notably the vineyards which of course have their place in the market, together with home-made and orchard products: tomatoes, lettuces, apples… and a large variety of seasonal foodstuffs that maintain that so characteristic flavour that only fresh, natural products contain.

Jalón is known for its narrow streets, its shops and its restaurants that are scattered all over the place. The Saturday market is definitely a place of great charm in which to immerse oneself in local culture and to purchase something that takes your fancy.

The Earth Market does not forget its younger visitors, and at 12 midday they put on different activities for kids, including storytelling and theatre. A genuine pleasure for old and young alike.

Every Sunday there is an antiques market too, with genuine bargains to be found. On display are items of decoration, collections, or stone, metal and ceramic figures and this is undoubtedly an ideal way to round of a weekend's shopping.

Important to know that during the months of July and August it is in the afternoon. The Mercado de la Tierra is from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Saturdays and the Rastro is from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays as well.

The Mercado de la Tierra is in Pla de la sèquia and the Rastro is next to the tourist office.
