A place where the atmosphere of the region's fishing traditions still endures, proudly preserved by the local inhabitants, who take great care of every corner of this patch of paradise.

The huts used to store the fishing apparatus were gradually extended as the trade became more important, ultimately becoming traditional fishermen's houses. That served to lay the initial foundations of the settlement which over the years was to become Moraira.

A pleasant stroll along the picturesque streets, today filled with small boutiques stocking highly original clothing, souvenir shops and bars serving up fine cocktails, ice creams or the region's traditional drink, horchata (tiger nut milk), with one unmissable establishment being “La Jijonenca”.

From there, on to the Plaza de la Sort, the site of the castle dating from 1742 with its curious layout and a viewing platform alongside, offering wonderful panoramas of the sands of Playa de La Ampolla and the Peñón de Ifach de Calpe.
