The El Arenal district of Jávea is unquestionably one of the main focal points for tourism. It is home to “Playa del Arenal” a beach of wonderfully fine sand skirted by a promenade running along the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. Here there are dozens of fashion boutiques, bars and excellent restaurants serving the famous rice and fish dishes of the Bay of Jávea.

El Arenal in Jávea is made up of a number of different elements: a vast beach of fine sand, and an outstanding seafront promenade with every possible amenity to hand.

Playa del Arenal, located right in the heart of the Bay of Jávea, is the main focal point for tourism and the most popular beach with bathers, thanks to the quality of the water, which is shallow and an intense turquoise in colour.

It is fringed by a long promenade with an outstanding culinary and leisure offering, while over recent years it has undergone particular expansion through the rise of tourism, making a visit here an unmissable experience which you will undoubtedly want to repeat.

It matters little what time of the day you visit: in the morning you could opt for a refreshing dip in the sea, followed up by Valencia's traditional paella, or fish caught in the Bay of Jávea at one of the delightful restaurants. Another option would be a pleasant stroll in the evening, to take in the landscape and the beautiful sunset in the background, stopping off for a little something at the terrace of one of the numerous bars, or taking the time to peruse the hippie stalls selling all manner of arts and crafts. Lastly, but no less appealingly, at night it is the perfect place for a drink, El Arenal boasting a wonderful atmosphere with truly chic bars and nightclubs, bohemian watering holes with their chill-out music… everything to ensure that a night out at El Arenal is a completely unforgettable experience. A surefire hit which will leave no visitor disappointed.

There can be no doubt this is one of the most distinctive buildings in the beautiful town of Jávea. The Fortified Church of San Bartolomé, built in the Gothic Isabelline style, has been declared a "National Artistic Monument", and a visit is a feast for the eyes, as are the surrounding buildings in the traditional local "tufa" undressed stone, with their Mediterranean feel.
