The Sierra de Bèrnia uplands represent one of the greatest natural features of Benissa, along with the Ecological Promenade. They cover some 11 kilometres running perpendicularly inland from the coast, with an area of 1900 hectares divided among several boroughs.
The route includes the "Fuente de Bèrnia" (Bèrnia Spring), along with the opportunity to cross the uplands via the so-called "Forat", a natural cavity in the rock, before heading to the southern edge at the "Bèrnia Fort", built in the days of Philip II to combat the Moorish rebellions.
A truly adventurous experience courtesy of Bèrnia to be enjoyed alone or with the family, at one with nature while following the numerous hiking trails.
