This is the most centrally located beach in the town of Altea, and is the continuation of Cap Negret beach which extends as far as the fishing port, and has now been awarded a blue flag.
For most of its length it is made up of white pebbles, a feature which for many offers an added attraction, making it cleaner and calmer than other nearby sandy beaches, especially in the busy summer tourist season.
La Roda beach provides clean and clear water allowing for a range of watersport pursuits such as canoeing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, kayaking, etc.
It has extensive amenities, including a car park just 30 metres away, lifeguards, supervision and adapted facilities for people with reduced mobility.
There is also a delightful Seafront Promenade running alongside, with an extensive array of bars, restaurants and shops to take a breather and revel in the views while strolling along and admiring in the background the Mascarat region and the Peñón de Ifach headland beyond.
