An idyllic setting where the water, music and the location itself merge into one. Designed as a giant party with friends, music, water, fun and above all the best DJs, Benidorm's Neptuno Aquatic Festival claims to be the world's best tribute to Neptune. The grounds are split between two stages playing two very different styles of music; electronic music and techno music, with both stages hosting performances from the best DJs and dance stars on the current scene.
A water festival which has been graced by figures as famous as Cristian Varela, composer, pianist and techno DJ, whose hobby is electronic music. Also, the group Space Elephants, renowned for the unusual indietronica and Dubstep music.
Previous guest stars at this magnificent aquatic festival have included local artists like Derek Muller, a DJ and producer living in Alicante whose groove style with shades of house music and a techno background make a potent mixture for getting people up and dancing. Also included are The Zombie Kids, DJs from Spain whose eclectic musical tastes rooted in electronic music mean hours of fun and non-stop dancing are assured.
The Bonfires of San Juan in Alicante, which coincide with the summer solstice on the 24th of June, are without doubt the best known of all the festivities that are held in this town. Internationally famous, not for nothing have they been declared a "Festival of International Tourist Interest", and each year they attract thousands of people from every corner of the world.
The month of October is when Calpe holds an event that people have been looking forward to all year: bands of music, the raising of standards in the Castle, the offering, the disembarkation or the great Parade are the highlights of the traditional Moors and Christians festivities in honour of the "Santísimo Cristo del Sudor" (the Most Holy Christ of Sweat).
